Full bio
A physiotherapist on a lifelong mission to help people thrive.
From a torn ACL to a career spent helping others move, heal, and feel empowered, this is Kayla’s story, from her own site.
Where it started
Kayla has always had a deep passion for health and fitness, ultimately finding her calling in promoting holistic well-being and empowering others.
Her journey into the profession started with a familiar catalyst: after tearing her ACL and experiencing firsthand the transformative impact of working with an exceptional physiotherapist during her rehabilitation, Kayla was inspired to pursue a career in physical therapy.
Following graduation, she continued studying and training alongside leading experts in human potential, personal growth, and mindset, continually expanding her mastery of health, wellness, and human performance.
Her mission
As a physiotherapist, Kayla’s core mission is to inspire people to elevate their health, fitness, and overall quality of life. Rather than simply treating isolated injuries, her approach focuses on fostering long-term wellness across every stage of life.
Her approach
Kayla’s practice reflects the growing scientific consensus on the mind-body connection: that physical recovery is deeply intertwined with our mental and emotional well-being. She recognizes that true rehabilitation requires down-regulating the nervous system alongside treating the physical tissues.
Grounded in foundational teachings from an Elder, Kayla respectfully weaves the framework of the Medicine Wheel into her practice. This traditional wisdom beautifully mirrors modern biopsychosocial research, caring for the whole person across their physical mechanics, their mental resilience, their emotional state, and their underlying spirit and vitality for life.
Areas of focus
Her primary clinical areas of interest:
- Improving function for individuals with diverse abilities
- Down-regulating chronic stress and the hypersensitive nervous system
- Providing lasting relief for chronic headaches and neck pain
- Unwinding myofascial tension
Outside the clinic
Outside of the clinic, Kayla loves spending time in nature, crafting, studying, traveling, and cherishing moments with her family.
She is also deeply passionate about advocating for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s calls to action, and driving meaningful progress toward equitable health care.
Her people: her husband, Nick; her young daughter, Elowyn; and her dog, Basil.
